There are car shows, and then there are events that treat the automobile as more than that.

ArtNeun 4 returns to Melbourne this November, bringing together around 200 remarkable Porsche sports cars in one of the city’s most distinctive industrial locations — the heritage-listed Vegemite Factory in Port Melbourne. Rather than simply parking cars in rows, ArtNeun approaches the Porsche as a piece of design.

Cars are deliberately positioned throughout the historic factory environment, turning the venue into a large-scale automotive gallery and creating an experience where motoring, architecture, photography, art and engineering collide.

For anyone who appreciates Porsche history, or simply beautiful machines in remarkable surroundings — this is one Melbourne motoring event worth putting in the calendar.

Around 200 Porsches. More Than 75 Years of Design.

The fourth edition of ArtNeun will feature approximately 200 Porsche sports cars spanning more than 75 years of Porsche design and development. Expect everything from familiar classics to rare and seldom-seen cars, presented against the machinery, architecture and industrial character of the Vegemite Factory. And that’s part of what makes ArtNeun different.

The location changes each year, meaning the combination of cars and setting exists for one day only. Previous ArtNeun exhibitions have taken place in Port Melbourne, Braeside and Moorabbin.

Porsche Culture Meets Melbourne Industrial History

This year’s setting adds another layer to the experience.

The Vegemite Factory at 1 Vegemite Way, Port Melbourne is the historic home of one of Australia’s most recognisable products. For ArtNeun, that industrial backdrop becomes an enormous temporary gallery.

Against it sit generations of Porsche design — curves, wings, air-cooled silhouettes and racing-influenced engineering surrounded by a very different piece of Australian manufacturing history.

It should make for some rather good photographs.
